Carbon Fast Passenger Ferry
The Vessel
The FERRY 32 is a 32-metre carbon fibre passenger catamaran, delivered in 2017 — carrying 199 passengers at a design service speed of 30 knots.
Operated by a Norwegian regional operator out of Ålesund under the Norwegian flag — a lightweight carbon sandwich hull driven by twin MTU diesels and MJP waterjets.

“Thirty knots —
and the fjord shrinks.”
Design Highlights

A design service speed of 30 knots — genuine fast-ferry pace that shortens every scheduled crossing.
Two MTU 10V2000 M72 diesels deliver 900 kW each at 2,100 rpm — proven high-speed workhorses in compact engine rooms.
Twin MJP 500 waterjets give a shallow 1.3 m draft, crisp manoeuvring and smooth acceleration to service speed.
Carbon fibre sandwich in vinylester keeps the structure light and stiff — the weight saving that makes 30 knots with 199 passengers practical.
On Board
All 199 passengers ride a single bright saloon — two-tone high-back seating along a full-length centre aisle, with W.C.s and generous luggage racks aft.

General Arrangement

Profile and main-deck plan: the 199-seat saloon fills the main deck, W.C.s and luggage racks sit aft, and the wheelhouse rides one deck up, forward.
