The Vessel

One vessel,
two missions

The OBLUE FERRY 26H is a 26.1-metre hybrid-electric carbon fiber catamaran serving Bodø for a Norwegian ferry operator — and run by a sightseeing operator as a 100% electric excursion vessel when she is not on reserve express-boat duty.

Delivered on 1 August 2024, the FERRY 26H runs the Bodø–Væran and Bodø–Gildeskål routes as a hybrid with around 70% electric operation, then switches to silent, emission-free sightseeing — one hull, two operators, full utilisation.

  • Carbon fiber / vinylester sandwich catamaran
  • 2 × 1000 kW electric motors, 1.1 MWh battery
  • Reserve express boat and 100% electric sightseeing in one
  • DNV 1A HSLC R2 Passenger Battery (Power)

01

Ferry × Sightseeing

One vessel shared by two operators: reserve express boat on a Norwegian ferry operator's tendered routes, emission-free excursion vessel for a sightseeing operator — maximum resource utilisation from a single hull.

02

Hybrid-Electric Powertrain

Twin 1000 kW electric motors and a 1.1 MWh battery, backed by diesel range extenders — 100% electric on sightseeing duty, around 70% electric in route service.

03

30 Knots on Carbon

A lightweight carbon fiber sandwich catamaran that reaches 30 knots — fast enough for express-boat duty, efficient enough for low-speed electric cruising.

04

Panoramic, Universal, Practical

Large panoramic windows and universally designed spaces for 130 passengers — with room for luggage, bicycles and kayaks, plus a cargo hold and deck crane.

On Board

130 seats,
wrapped in glass

A bright panoramic saloon with timber finishes, a kiosk pantry and an open sundeck above — designed for sightseeing comfort and express-boat duty alike.
