Carbon Fiber High-Speed Ferry
The Vessel
The AERO 36 is the first vessel of the AERO product line — an aerodynamic, energy-efficient single-deck fast ferry built in lightweight carbon fiber composite.
Three sister vessels were delivered to a Greek ferry group in 2022 — the first new-built vessels to join the Greek coastal fleet in ten years — upgrading the travel experience for more than three million passengers a year on the Saronic routes out of Piraeus.

“A fast ferry that slips through the air
as cleanly as through the water.”
Design Highlights

A low, wind-shaped superstructure cuts air resistance at 32 knots — roughly another ten percent of energy saved on top of the lightweight hull.
The trademark lightweight build trims fuel burn by up to 40% against a conventional vessel — less displacement, less wake, less noise.
Rooftop solar panels cover all lighting and accommodation-area energy needs, taking load off the gensets in harbour and under way.
An innovative hull form with upgraded ride control keeps the Saronic chop outside the cabin — a quiet, level ride at full service speed.
On Board
One hundred and fifty high-back seats under soft ambient lighting, panoramic windows along both flanks, overhead luggage bins, a bicycle area, air-conditioned pet kennels and full facilities for passengers with reduced mobility.

General Arrangement

Single-deck layout: 150 high-back seats in one panoramic cabin, boarding doors amidships port and starboard, W.C. and luggage racks aft — wheelhouse forward with all-round visibility.
In Service
Since August 2022 all three AERO 36s have been linking Piraeus with Aegina, Agistri, Poros, Hydra and Spetses — replacing aging hydrofoils and carrying over three million passengers a year.
