OBLUE International presents
Carbon Fiber High-Speed Passenger Ferry
The Vessel
The OBLUE FERRY 45 is a 44.75-metre carbon fiber high-speed catamaran for 400 passengers, delivered to a Hong Kong ferry operator in October 2024 — a reference vessel in Hong Kong's eco-friendly ferries programme.
Delivered on 18 October 2024 as the seventh vessel of the batch, she serves Hong Kong's outlying-islands passenger routes — classed by CCS as a high-speed catamaran for coastal service.

“Beyond aluminium —
26 knots at 85% MCR, 63 dB in the main cabin.”
Design Highlights

An advanced carbon fiber composite catamaran — light weight, corrosion-resistant and inherently quiet, with efficiency an aluminium ferry cannot match.
26 knots at just 85% MCR of the main engines, with no more than 63 dB in the main cabin — without additional soundproofing.
SCR exhaust aftertreatment meets IMO Tier 3 — the highest international emission standard — to help improve air quality in Hong Kong's ports.
Photovoltaic panels cover the top deck, supplying lighting and air-conditioning while the vessel is berthed.
General Arrangement

Two passenger saloons over twin carbon demi-hulls — wheelhouse on the bridge deck, open boarding decks fore and aft.
