China's Largest-Capacity Carbon Fiber Ferry
The Vessel
The FERRY 45 MAX is the largest-capacity carbon fiber vessel built in China — a 44.75-metre high-speed passenger ferry carrying 500 passengers on a Hong Kong ferry operator's services.
Launched at Nansha, Guangzhou on 4 November 2024 and delivered in Hong Kong on 31 December 2024, she is the eighth vessel of the operator's eleven-ferry outlying-islands programme, classed by CCS.

for the Greater Bay Area.”
Design Highlights

Five hundred seats make her the largest-capacity carbon fiber vessel yet built in China — proof that carbon construction scales to full-size ferry fleets, with light weight, corrosion resistance and low noise.
A design speed of 26 knots becomes 33 knots at full load — and 30 knots at just 85% MCR — keeping island timetables on schedule with margin to spare.
Optimized from a proven parent design for her route, with strengthened structure and upgraded seakeeping and manoeuvrability — safe operation in Force 8 wind conditions.
SCR aftertreatment meets IMO Tier III — the highest international emission standard — while a lithium battery pack and solar panels run essential loads at berth, cutting daily fuel burn and emissions.
